Dr Jason Galanos (MBBS (Hons), B.Med.Sci., FRACP) graduated from the University of Melbourne with First Class Honours in 2000, first in Medicine. He subsequently completed his specialist physician training in Endocrinology at St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne.
In 2008, Jason received a prestigious National Health Medical Research Council grant to undertake a research fellowship in novel therapies for the treatment of Diabetic kidney disease at University of Melbourne and St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
Jason is in full time, private, clinical practice. He is accredited at St Vincent's, Epworth and Cabrini Private Hospitals, providing inpatient endocrine care.
An Endocrinologist is a physician specialising in the care of patients with a variety of metabolic and hormonal disorders.
Dr Jason Galanos has a keen interest in all aspects of Endocrinology, including the use of pumps, and advanced technologies in the field of continuous glucose monitoring, in the management of diabetic patients.
Melbourne Endocrinology provides prompt and outstanding clinical care in collaboration with other health care professionals, working with patients to improve and meet their health goals.
Due to ongoing demand we are only accepting new patients on a case-by-case basis. Accordingly, referrals need to be provided prior to any new patient bookings being accepted.

The referral from your General Practitioner (valid for 12 months, unless marked "indefinite") or Specialist (valid for 3 months).
Any relevant past investigation results; blood tests, radiology scans, relevant correspondence from other specialists.
For diabetic patients, a record of your recent blood glucose levels.

For VicRoads Medical Reports, diabetic patients should have had a HbA1c blood test level obtained within the previous 3 months, and attend with a record of their blood glucose levels, and results of a recent optometrist report.
Consultation fees are charged in line with the Australasian Medical Association recommended schedule.
For valid Medicare card holders, the applicable Medicare rebate can be processed electronically at the time of payment if your bank account details have been registered with Medicare.

Please note that Private Health insurance does not cover outpatient medical consultations. Provision of any inpatient medical services are billed directly to the applicable Private Health Fund ("no gap").
